Artist's Statement

Patric stumbled on to crafting InsideTheBall golf balls a few years ago. "After spending a day working on my first love, woodworking, I started to fidget with a golf ball that was just laying on my workbench." Patric then jokes, "Little did I know that a few years later I would have perfected a skill in carving TopFlite golf balls." He soon began giving them as gifts, sharing them with family and friends, and even attending an art fair here and there in Portland. People loved them! So armed with plenty of patience and a steady hand, he carefully carves the core of each golf ball, then hand paints every intricate detail and finishes with a true one of a kind piece, someone will enjoy for many years to come.

Though Patric has never been formally trained in the fine arts, there is without any doubt, an artist passion that drives his work. In fact when you ask Patric about this he often replies, "There is not a school on the planet that can make you an artist, its something you have to be born with. A teacher can't re-wire someone's brain for creativity, all an art school can do, is confirm what you have known all of your life, that you are an artist." Whether working in the medium of golf balls, wood turning and carving, or creative writing, he mixes vision and heart, to bring you these unique treasures.

Patric currently resides in Washington state, with his family. Alternating his time, between the computer keyboard and his workbench, always with the thought of creating his next unique piece to share with you. So we hope you enjoy!
